Stories based on The Tear Thief by Carol Ann Duffy.

Over the past few weeks, Panthers class have been using The Tear Thief by Carol Ann Duffy to write some amazing stories. They used the structure of her stories to then imagine their own emotion thief.

Below are some front covers that the children have completed. I have also included two reviews written by the children and a recount of our process.

A review of Kyle's story The Flabbergast Thief by Harley

I thought Kyle's story was really good. He used great words like: bright, scrapping and finally crashing. I would recommend this story to everyone. His writing told me about children's shock. I would rate him 4 and half stars.

A review of Kayleigh's story, The Envy Thief by Rachel
I enjoyed this story from start to end for all of the words she used. It had pristine similes, adjectives and verbs that made the atmosphere and the people seem real. Some of the people's envy was quite touching plus it had added information. All in all, a good story! 3 stars.

A recount of what our process was by William.
The first thing we did was listened to the Tear Thief story a few times. Then we chose our emotion (I decided to do craziness). Next we planned our story in note form. Fourthly we wrote our own versions and then edited and read to KS1 and lastly we recorded our stories and the designed our front covers.
